Jonathan Glew is a freelance theatre director, writer and composer based in London.
RECENTLY
Jonathan is currently working as director and composer on a new musical adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘TREASURE ISLAND’ in collaboration with celebrated playwright Robert Farquhar.

In November 2023, Jonathan directed two productions simultaneously at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts as part of the 3rd year BA actors ‘Youth Revolt’ season. THE IT by Vivienne Franzmann and a new adaptation of SPRING AWAKENING written by Jonathan.

A Dolls House, Broadway
Spring Awakening / The It, LIPA
From January to June 2023 Jonathan worked as Associate Director on the hugely acclaimed Broadway production of A Dolls House starring Jessica Chastain. The show ran ran on Broadway at The Hudson between Feb & June 2023. The production won numerous awards including ‘Best Revival at the 2023 Drama League Awards and was nominated for 6 Tonys.
The Effect, The Shed, NYC
After a hugely successful run at The National Theatre last summer, The Effect was remounted at The Shed in New York from March 3rd - 31st
Alongside the full cast from the London production, Jonathan returned as associate director.
The Effect was filmed during it’s sell out run at The National Theatre and can now be streamed at www.ntathome.com
Jonathan continues his long time collaboration with The Jamie Lloyd Company, working as Associate Director on their latest smash hit production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ starring Tom Holland and Francesca Amewudah-Rivers.
